Interactive sweet stations are meant for your guests to well...interact! They will surely be impressed. It's a great way to allow them to add their own personal twist on dessert. Besides that, hosting an interactive sweet station at your party can push the boundaries of your creativity giving the end result of something truly sweet (pun intended).
There are a few ways you can go about your interactive sweet station. Here are some ideas along with examples of how to implement these interactions.
1. Choose your own toppings
Keep it classy with sundaes. Offer fudge and syrups, fruits, nuts, whipped cream, crushed oreos and more. Get experimental with some "sweet pizzas". Essentially these are just cookies you can top with anything from yogurt, icing, fruit, sprinkles. etc. It will definitely be a unique experience for your guests.
2. Dip your treats
Can you say "chocolate fountain dipping station"? If your mouth began to water, don't worry you're not alone. Dip anything and everything in chocolate! Cookies, marshmallows, cake pops, fruit, rice krispy treats, pretzels, the list can go on forever. Not much can go wrong with a beautiful chocolate fountain for your guests to marvel and use themselves.
3. Decorate it yourself
Provide un-decorated cupcakes and cookies along with icing pouches, sprinkles and anything else you could place on a pastry. Your guests will have fun being their own professional decorators.
It is what it is. Let your guests roast their own marshmallows, inside or out. With chocolate and graham crackers it's easy for anyone to make their own s'mores. When was the last time you didn't enjoy s'mores? Never? I thought so!
5. Build your own fruit salad
This is a great option if you want to take a healthier route. Serve up a buffet of fruit ranging from apples to strawberries, bananas and honeydew, grapes and watermelon. The more variety the better. Don't forget to offer toppings such as cottage cheese, granola, honey and yogurt.
6. DIY Sweet Kabobs
A sweet kabob is exactly how it sounds. A shishkabob with a variety of sweet treats is definitely pleasing. Chocolate covered fruit is perfect for this sweet station. Offer brownies, mini cupcakes, donuts, basically anything you can stick on a stick. With these sweet kabobs, everyone can get a little bit of everything they want.
Now that we've gone through some different types of interactive sweet stations, you're ready to get your guests engaged with your amazing dessert experience. Remember there is ALWAYS more room for creativity. Go as wild as you want or stay as classy/traditional as you would like. Whichever you choose, everyone will be guiltily going back for seconds.
